In an effort to head off some of the obvious opportunities for mischief against property owners and property rights inherent in any General Plan revision, several NVLSA members participated on the Napa County General Plan Review Committee, attending monthly meetings over a period of 2 1⁄2 years.
Although not successful to the degree we had hoped, NVLSA apparently had some influence on the final plan.
Some of the more radical proposals by other constituencies were rejected by the Committee, perhaps at least in part due to NVLSA presenting coherent arguments against them.
Nevertheless, the new General Plan is being used to support new attacks on property rights, including a ban on vacation rentals.
